The Startup Hour,” a new TV show devoted to young business ventures, is going to be shooting in Kansas City next week.
The creators are looking for entrepreneurs to include in the first season of the reality-style show, which will be produced in San Francisco. The show will be visiting Boston, Pittsburgh, New York and several other cities this month to look at startups.
The Kansas City stop will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 17 at the Innovation Café, a local co-working space. It’s not too late to sign up through the show’s website to deliver a pitch that day. And if time permits, the producers will record “walk-ins” on a first-come, first-served basis.
They’ll also continue to take applications via the website after the 17th.
Unlike “Shark Tank,” viewers will be able to invest in the featured companies, if they are accredited investors who have registered with “The Startup Hour.” The show has set up a system where investments can be made via smartphone.
“The Startup Hour” will air 11 episodes during its first season, which will debut at 9 p.m. May 13 on Me TV, Channel 9.2. Kansas City is one of a handful of cities where the show will be broadcast; it will also be available online.
